News2News.in News.Ambala. The Haryana State Anti Narcotics Bureau has seized a huge consignment of drugs. Police have arrested a youth on a bike with 1,309kg of opium. During the investigation, the police also arrested another accused involved in the case. During the special operation against drug smugglers led by Bureau Chief, Additional Director General of Police OP Singh and Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar, the Ambala unit of the bureau had received information about a large consignment of opium arriving in Kurukshetra.

FBI DSP Jagbir Singh and Ambala unit in-charge Inspector Satbir Singh Rathore said that the unit received information that Arun Kumar alias Tinku from Shantinagar, Kurukshetra, had brought a large consignment of opium on his motorcycle. Police had information that he was coming from Ismailabad towards his village Shanti Nagar. On this basis, the police set up a blockade and arrested the defendant and his motorcycle. During the search, 1 kg 309 grams of opium was recovered from his possession. When a case was registered against him under the NDPS Act and investigation was initiated, the police also arrested his co-accused Umesh alias Kaku. Preparations are now being made to take the two defendants into custody and interrogate them. The investigating officer appealed to the public to contact the toll-free number 90508-91508 without fear if anyone is selling drugs in their area.
