Karnal: Police arrested three accused in the case of theft of jewelry worth around one crore from a jeweler’s house in Sector 7. Stolen goods were also recovered from the accused. All three accused were produced before the court and remanded in custody.
The complainant jeweler Jitendra Kumar, a resident of Sector 7, had hired a person named Chalitra of Suraj Agency, a resident of Bihar, as a servant at his house about five days before the incident. At that time the accused servant named Vinod came to the house of Chalitra. Jitendra has a showroom in the name of Raj Jewelers on Kunjpura Road. After closing the showroom at night, he came home and slept. Her son Chirag had also slept in his room after removing his bracelet, ring and watch and keeping them in the cupboard. When Chirag woke up at 11 am, he did not find his jewelry in the cupboard. When his son looked for his servant in the house, he was nowhere to be found. This made him suspicious of the servant and he looked for his servant at the bus station and train station but could not find him. A complaint was lodged at police station 32/33 after a diamond bracelet worth around Rs 15 lakh, a diamond ring worth around Rs 80 lakh and a watch worth around Rs 2 lakh, totaling around Rs 97 lakh, were recovered from the house , were stolen.

On December 6, the team headed by SI Himmat Singh arrested accused Chalitra Mukhiya, resident of two villages, Kadamaha (Bihar), Britannia Chowk Sukarpur Colony, Delhi and accused Mohammad Zahir, resident of Dhaushahi (Bihar), Britannia Chowk Colony Sukarpur, Delhi, from Delhi. On December 7, both defendants were brought before the court and given ten-day remand. While in custody, the stolen diamond bracelet and diamond ring were recovered at the behest of the accused Chalitra and Mohammad Zahir. After identification of the accused, Kasindra Paswan, a resident of Jagatpur Village (Bihar), Hall House No. 1180, Road No. 15, Patel Nagar, was arrested on December 13 from Jagatpur Village Police Station, Phulparas District, Madhubani Bihar. DSP Veer Singh said that a fake agency was created in the name of Suraj Servant Agency. One of the accused, Kasindra, was arrested in Gurugram. Meanwhile, accused Vinod alias Chalitra and Zahid were arrested in Delhi. All of them are illiterate and were previously in Delhi Jail.
