From the national capital Delhi to dozens of cities in Haryana, UP and Rajasthan, people are breathing due to the suffocating air. On Sunday, the air quality index was recorded as very hazardous in many areas of Haryana. The third stage restrictions of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAPE) were implemented by the Commission for Air Quality and Management (CAQM). But pollution is not decreasing.

On Sunday, 461 AQIs were registered in Delhi, 460 in Faridabad in Haryana, 459 in Kaithal, 432 in Greater Noida in UP, 413 in Bhiwadi in Rajasthan and 400 in Bathinda in Punjab. The air in the cities of Delhi and neighboring states is becoming increasingly toxic. Even on Sunday, people faced smog all day long. For this reason, complaints of burning in the eyes and chest are increasing. To control the ever-increasing pollution, the third phase of GREP has been implemented in Delhi and NCR cities. According to this, non-essential construction activities are prohibited. Vehicles with petrol engines of class BS-3 and diesel vehicles of class BS-4 are prohibited. It is certain that driving such a vehicle in Delhi will attract a fine of Rs 20,000.

  • The streets should be sprayed with water regularly.
  • Reduce travel and increase use of public vehicles.
  • A strict ban on construction and demolition should be imposed.
  • BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel vehicles should not run.
  • Classes up to fifth grade should take place online in schools.

The AQI was 460 in Faridabad, Kaithal 459, Fatehabad 457, Hisar 439, Gurugram 418, Sirsa 400, Jind 388, Ballabhgarh 386, Dharuhera 380, Sonipat 379, Narnaul 375, Bahadurgarh 370, Rohtak 350.
