  • To build the new parliament building, sandstone has been imported from Sarmathura in Rajasthan on the lines of the Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi.
  • The saffron green stone installed inside the Lok Sabha chamber in Parliament has been brought from Udaipur in Rajasthan.
  • The sculptors of Abu Road, Udaipur, Rajasthan did the work of stone carving. The stones in it were brought from Kotputli.
  • The furniture inside the Parliament House is made of teak wood, which has been sourced from Nagpur in Maharashtra. This furniture was made in Mumbai.
  • The lattice work around the building was done in Rajasthan and Noida. Apart from this, false ceiling structures made of steel were brought from Daman and Diu.
  • The fly ash bricks used to build the Parliament have been sourced from UP and Haryana, while the brass work and precast cement trenches have been brought from Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
  • The red granite installed inside the Rajya Sabha chamber in Parliament has been sourced from Lakha in Ajmer. White marble has been brought from Ambaji in Rajasthan.
  • The material used to carve the Ashoka emblem has been brought from Jaipur and Aurangabad. Both the Ashok Chakra installed inside the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been sourced from Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
