Liquor Scam Case: Aam Aadmi Party’s troubles in the Delhi liquor scam are showing no signs of abating. After the national capital, now the Enforcement Directorate has started taking action in Punjab also. ED has today raided the house of AAP MLA Kulwant Singh from Mohali, Punjab in Sector 71. ED is also taking action against the houses of liquor traders in Amritsar, Ludhiana and Mohali.
ED raid continues
ED is examining the documents of Kulwant Singh’s office and house. Authorities have not yet confirmed in which case the raid has been conducted. According to media reports, this raid is being conducted in connection with Delhi’s liquor policy. Along with this, ED teams have also reached the MLA’s partnership firm located at Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. It is being told that the search is going on in entire Punjab including Mohali, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana as well as Sriganganagar in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, big CAs of Mohali are also on the radar of ED.
Governor also raised questions
Recently, Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit had raised questions on two projects of JLPL of MLA Kulwant Singh. He had written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in this regard seeking a reply. He had alleged that his own MLAs were doing real estate business by violating the rules. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has already been arrested in connection with Delhi’s liquor policy. Yesterday the Supreme Court had rejected his bail plea. The court had ordered investigation into the matter in the next 6 months. After this, this is a big action of ED in Mohali today. At the same time, ED has also summoned Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
