Delhi Police Raids ON Newsclick:�Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday raided the houses of journalists and employees associated with Newsclick amid the news portal’s alleged Chinese links. Large-scale raids are being conducted by Delhi Police Special Cell at more than 30 locations in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad. Delhi Police Special Cell has registered a case under the Unlawful Activities Act (UAPA). During the raid, the Special Cell of Delhi Police seized many electronic evidence, laptops, mobile phones and dumped data from hard disks.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had registered a case against the news portal and investigated its funding. The central agency had also seized some properties related to the news portal. The agency had also alleged that the money was used for anti-national activities.

The matter also came to light in August

In August, an investigation alleged that NewsClick was one of the organizations funded by a network linked to American millionaire Neville Roy Singham that promotes Chinese propaganda. ED had also said that China-based Neville Roy Singham had illegally given Rs 38 crore to Nucleic to spread pro-China information in India. Newsclick director Prabir Purkayastha and his associate journalists are also accused of writing and publishing paid news on their website in exchange for periodic sums of money given by Singham to PPK Newsclick Studio Private Limited.
