Deepak Mittal / Balod. In Chhattisgarh’s Balod district, a one and a half year old child has died after falling into a water tank. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and got involved in the investigation. There is a wave of mourning in the village due to the death of the girl child. The case pertains to Khapri village under Kotwali police station area of the district.
According to the information received, Setram Sahu, a resident of Khapri village, reached home at around 10:30 am on Monday to work in a rice mill in Balod, leaving behind his wife and one and a half year old daughter. On the other hand, Setram’s wife and his daughter were in the house. Meanwhile, when his wife was doing household chores, the little daughter fell into the water tank while playing. After some time, when the girl was not seen, her mother started searching for the girl here and there, then her mother saw that the girl had fallen inside the water tank. After this, he called the people around and with the help of everyone, the girl was taken out of the tank and brought to the district hospital for treatment, where the girl was declared dead.
CHMO Uike of Balod District Hospital said that by the time the girl was brought to the hospital, the girl had died. On the other hand, station in-charge Balod Naveen Borkar says that as soon as the information about the matter is received, a case has been established at around 4 o’clock and taken into consideration and investigation is being done. However, in the investigation so far, it has been found that the girl died due to drowning in the water tank.
