Raipur Till now you must have heard and seen the beauty competition of beauties, but soon the beauty competition of cities is going to be seen. The special thing is that this scheme is being launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Central Government. Preparations are being made for this in Chhattisgarh also. Guidelines have been issued regarding evaluation and site inspection of the proposals submitted by urban bodies for the City Beauty Competition.

State and district level committees (third party agencies) have been formed for evaluation and site inspection for all types of award categories. Sameer Vajpayee will be the chairman of the state level committee. Abir Bandhopadhyay, Sai Pramanik, Kapil Singh Verma have been included as members. The relevant information will be placed before this committee by the State Nodal Officer. In the district level committee, the CEO will be the District Panchayat or Additional Collector Chairman. The members will include urban planning, designing, traffic engineering, art history experts, who will be nominated by the Collector. In this, officers from any department other than the urban body will be member secretaries, who will be nominated by the District Collector.
The competition will be like this
In the guidelines given for this beauty competition, prize categories (components) for the competition have also been decided. This sequence includes Beautiful Ward, Beautiful Water Front, Beautiful Green Space, Beautiful Tourist Heritage Site, Beautiful Market, Commercial Place etc. In this regard, the authority to declare the ranking has also been decided. District Collector will be the authority at city level, Department of Urban Administration and Development for state level ranking and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India for national ranking.
Terms and conditions have been laid down for the evaluation to be done by the committee formed for the City Beauty Competition. It has been said that no official employee of the body will be included in this work even for evaluation. To complete this process, the committee may assign work to a separate sub-committee, agency for physical verification, validation etc. No official employee of the body will be involved in this work also. After the site inspection, by entering the details in the inspection form, the city level ranking information along with the marks obtained in the evaluation will be sent to the state level committee for further processing. After evaluation by the State Level Committee, it will be sent to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India through the competent authority.
