Raipur. Fifty rupees are being collected from people even after short-term vehicle parking. On the complaint, the airport management has given an ultimatum to cancel the contract after November 30 if the fast tag system is not implemented.

Complaints about charging more than the stipulated amount as parking fee from the vehicles coming to pick-up and drop the passengers at the airport have been coming up earlier also. According to the rules, a fee of twenty to thirty rupees is charged from the vehicles within the stipulated period, which also creates a situation of dispute between the vehicle drivers and the employees of the contract company. Recently, after receiving another complaint by the airport management, a notice has been issued to the contract company Anandi Enterprises seeking information in this regard. The concerned company has been directed to implement the Fast Tag system before 30th November. A warning has been given that if arrangements are not made within the stipulated time, the contract of the agency will be cancelled.

There is a complaint of extortion of fifty rupees by the employees of the contract company. Parking fee for private cars in airport parking is fixed at Rs 20 for up to 30 minutes. This parking fee is fixed at Rs 35 for 30 minutes to 2 hours. For the same period, the fee for two-wheelers is fixed at Rs 10 and Rs 15.

Complaint to Aviation Minister

Chhattisgarh Nagarik Sangharsh Samiti has complained about illegal recovery in parking to Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. The committee members have said that despite continuous complaints, the airport director is not able to stop the illegal recovery. On the basis of previous complaints, only action like show cause notice and minor fine has been taken to the concerned agency.

Raipur Airport Director Praveen Jain said that an ultimatum has been given to the concerned agency on the complaint of overcharging. It has been said to implement Fast Tag system to end recovery complaints. If this is not done, action will be taken to cancel the contract.
