WTC Final: The final of the World Test Championship will be played between India and Australia from June 7. ICC released the list of umpires
The International Cricket Council has released the list of umpires for the WTC final. Richard Illingworth of England, Chris Gaffani of New Zealand will be the on-field umpires in this list. At the same time, Richard Kettleborough will be the TV umpire and Sri Lanka’s Kumar Dharmasena will be the fourth umpire. Richie Richardson of the West Indies will officiate as the match referee. This will be Gaffney’s 49th Test match in his career. At the same time, 59-year-old Illingworth will be in the role of umpire in his 64th match.
Richard Kettleborough is considered unlucky from the point of view of the Indian team. In fact, whenever Kettlebro has umpired in India’s match since 2014, India has lost. Kettlebrough was the on-field umpire at the 2014 T20 World Cup, 2015 ODI World Cup, 2016 T20 World Cup, 2017 Champions Trophy, and 2019 ODI World Cup, while Kettlebrough was the TV umpire for the 2021 WTC final.
