Sansad Ratna Award 2023: Sansad Ratna Award 2023 has been announced. 13 MPs, 2 Parliamentary Committee and 1 Lifetime Achievement Award have been announced on Tuesday. Along with this, former CPM Rajya Sabha MP TK Rangarajan has been given the Life Time Achievement Award. This Life Time Achievement Award is named after former President APJ Abdul Kalam. It was he who suggested the introduction of the Sansad Ratna Award.
The MPs are selected by a jury of civil society and parliamentarians, headed by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and co-chaired by former Chief Election Commissioner S Krishnamurthy. This honor has been given to 13 MPs, including eight Lok Sabha and five Rajya Sabha members. There are also three former MPs in this list. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary of Congress in Lok Sabha, Bidyut Baran Mahto of BJP, Dr Sukant Majumdar of BJP, Kuldeep Rai Sharma of Congress, BJP MP Heena Vijaykumar Gavit, Gopal Shetty of BJP, Sudhir Gupta of BJP and Dr. Amol Ramsingh of NCP Kolhe has got it.
Along with this, the Rajya Sabha includes Dr. John Brits of CPI-M, Manoj Jha of RJD, Fauzia Tehseen Ahmed Khan of NCP, Vishambhar Prasad Nishad of Samajwadi Party and Chhaya Verma of Congress.
Explain that this award was suggested by former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam and this award is named after him. These awards are given to the MPs of the Lok Sabha on the basis of their performance under various categories, which include questions, private bills, participation in discussions, etc.
