In this regard, the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority CAAN says that this happened due to the negligence of the air traffic controller. The aircraft of Air India and Nepal Airlines had come very close. During this, the warning system of the aircraft alerted both the pilots, after which a major accident was avoided.

Giving more information in this regard, Authority spokesperson Jagannath Niroula said that three air traffic controllers have been removed from the post for this negligence. He told that this incident happened on Friday. Giving further information, Jagannath Niraula said that Nepal Airlines A-320 aircraft coming from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Kathmandu on Friday morning and Air India flight from New Delhi to Kathmandu came very close due to the carelessness of the traffic controller. During this, the warning system of the aircraft alerted both the pilots. After this, the pilots of both the aircraft saved a major accident by showing caution.

Spokesman Jagannath Niraula said the Air India plane was descending below 19,000 feet, while the Nepal plane was flying at 15,000 feet at the same location. He said that as soon as its warning was received on the aircraft radar, the pilot of Nepal Airlines landed his plane 7,000 feet in the sky. After this the accident has been averted. He informed that the authority has constituted a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter. At the same time, so far no statement has come out from Air India in this matter.
