Parliament Monsoon Session 2023: Responding to the discussion on the opposition’s no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha during the monsoon session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we were always ready to discuss Manipur, but the opposition kept running away. PM Modi said, “We asked the opposition to discuss Manipur. Home Minister Amit Shah also wrote a letter to him, but he neither had the courage nor the intention. He had sin in his stomach, due to which he was having pain.

Speaking on the Manipur violence, PM Narendra Modi said, “When the court verdict came in Manipur, due to the circumstances created in its favor and opposition, a period of violence started in the state. With women Serious crimes have taken place, which are unforgivable. At present, the central and state governments are constantly trying to get the culprits punished. The way the efforts are going, it is expected that the sun of peace will definitely rise in Manipur in the near future. I want to assure the people there that peace will definitely be restored in the state in the coming times. I want to tell the women and daughters of Manipur that the country is with you.”
‘Opposition knows nothing but politics’
Prime Minister Modi further said, “Home Minister Amit Shah spoke in detail about Manipur in the Lok Sabha for two hours on Wednesday. During this, he tried to express the concern of the government and the country. His speech was an attempt to make the people of Manipur aware. At the same time, there was an attempt from the side of the House to convey its message of faith to the Manipuri people, but the opposition knows nothing but politics.
‘Congress got the helpless civilians attacked in Mizoram’
Referring to an old incident in the North East, PM Modi said that on March 5, 1966, the Congress got the Air Force to attack helpless civilians in Mizoram. Congress should answer whether it was the air force of any other country. Were the people of Mizoram not the citizens of our country? Wasn’t their security the responsibility of the then central government?
