Mahua Moitra Cash For query Case: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra’s Parliament membership was canceled on Friday in the Cash for Query case. He has been expelled following the recommendation of the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha. Let us tell you that the issue of cash for query has not come to light for the first time. Even before this, many MPs had to lose their membership. The names of many such MPs are included in this list.

The first case came in 1951

The first case came before former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. In the year 1951, Congress MP HG Mudgal was accused of taking money and gifts from a businessman and asking questions. A special five-member investigation committee was formed in this regard, which found the allegations against the Congress MP to be true. Due to this he had to lose his membership also. At the same time, during the time of Somnath Chatterjee, there were 11 MPs who had to lose their Parliament membership in a similar case.

Membership of 11 MPs was canceled in 2005

Let us tell you that in 2005, Somnath Chatterjee had canceled the membership of 11 MPs in a similar case. In fact, in 2005, during the UPA government led by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a sting operation came to light, in which MPs in Parliament showed willingness to ask questions to promote a company in exchange for money. After this, all these MPs also asked questions in the Parliament.

At the same time, in the case of TMC leader Mahua Moitra, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla cited the decision of former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee 18 years ago, in which the membership of 11 MPs was canceled in the Note for Query case.
