CBI raid in fake passport scam case.
Major passport scams: The Central Investigation Agency (CBI) has taken a big step in the case of fake and fake passports. The agency has uncovered a passport racket in Sikkim and West Bengal and is conducting raids at 50 places including Gangtok, Siliguri in Kolkata. Also, a senior superintendent of the Passport Seva Laghu Kendra (PSLK) in Siliguri has been arrested along with a middleman.
Case registered against 24 people
According to media reports, CBI has registered a case against 24 people, including government officials, for issuing passports on the basis of forged documents. 16 officials including 4 persons who were allegedly issuing passports on the basis of fake documents. He said that in exchange of bribe, fake documents of many people were also prepared.
