Karnataka Communal Tension: Communal violence broke out in Shivamogga, Karnataka last night. The incident took place at Shantinagar near Ragigudda. There was heavy stone pelting in the area, in which many vehicles were broken and houses were also damaged. After getting information about the incident, police force and Rapid Action Force team reached the spot. Lathicharge also had to be done to drive away the people. After incidents of stone pelting came to light, the district administration on Monday imposed Section 144 of CrPC in Ragi Gudda area of ​​Karnataka. Taking action in this case, the police have arrested 40 accused.

What did CM Siddaramaiah say on the matter

On the incident of stone pelting in Shivamogga, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Eid Milad procession was going on when some miscreants pelted stones. They also pelted stones at the police. So far 40 people have been arrested. He further said that our government will not tolerate such activities and the situation is now under control.

Police officer gave information

Shivamogga SP GK Mithun Kumar said on the incident that allegedly following rumors of stone pelting at the Eid Milad procession, an angry mob pelted stones at some houses and vehicles and injured several people. He said that based on the video and information, some people have already been arrested in connection with the incident. Apart from Shanti Nagar and Ragi Gudda, the situation in other areas is now under control. Police urged locals to avoid spreading rumors on social media platforms. Earlier on September 30, there was a protest in the same area regarding the cutouts installed in the form of a procession.
