Richest and Poorest MLA in India: At present there are many poor MLAs in the country and many rich. Regarding this, the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report on the assets of Indian MLAs (MLAs) after analyzing 4001 sitting MLAs from 28 state assemblies and two union territories. Karnataka’s Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has the highest assets and West Bengal MLA Nirmal Kumar Dhara has the least assets.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is the richest legislator in the country. According to a report by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President DK Shivakumar holds the title of the richest MLA with assets of Rs 1,413 crore. Interestingly, with 12 of the top 20 positions, Karnataka MLAs top the list of the country’s richest legislators. According to the report, 14 per cent of Karnataka MLAs are billionaires, with assets of Rs 100 crore or more each. BJP MLA from West Bengal Nirmal Kumar Dhara has the least assets worth Rs.
