Jalgaon Violence: Violent clash broke out between two communities on Friday night in Amalner of Jalgaon, Maharashtra. There was fierce fighting and stone pelting among the people. The information of this incident was given to the police. The police reached the spot and appealed to the people to maintain peace. However, after this the rioters flared up. People started pelting stones at the police team as well. The police used force and lathicharged to disperse the miscreants. To control the situation, Section 144 has been imposed in the area. The city is being patrolled by several police teams. 4 policemen have also suffered injuries in this violence.

Violence erupted over a minor dispute

According to media reports, the violence erupted over a minor argument. Some children of a community in Amalner were urinating on the wall. People from the other side had expressed their displeasure on this matter. In the beginning, there was a minor scuffle, but soon a fight started between the two sides. Taking action after this violent incident, the Maharashtra Police took 34 people into custody from Amalner city.

Senior police officials said curfew has been imposed in the city for the next two days to control the situation. However, now the information of any kind of violent incident has not been revealed. Also, the police has appealed to the people to stay away from any kind of false rumours. It has also been said by the police that if Amalner tries to spread any nuisance in the city, strict action will be taken against him. He said that the police is engaged in gathering information about the miscreants involved in the violence. Many shops and temples have also been vandalized by the people involved in the violence.
