A major accident has taken place in Maharashtra due to the scorching heat. 11 people have died due to heat stroke at the award function held yesterday i.e. 16th April in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, while 24 people are hospitalized. The condition of many of them is said to be critical. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the family of the deceased. At the same time, free treatment has also been announced for the patients admitted in the hospital. Let us tell you that more than 3 lakh people had attended this award ceremony, during which the temperature was 42 degree Celsius. Because of this the accident happened.

According to media reports, this program was organized at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai from 11 am on April 16. The ceremony was attended by around 3 lakh people including Union Minister Amit Shah, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister Kapil Patil and several cabinet ministers of the state. In this function, Amit Shah honored social worker Dattatreya Narayan Dharmadhikari with the prestigious award. Meanwhile, 11 people died due to heat stroke while 24 people fell ill. This created chaos in the entire function. All the patients were admitted to Faron Hospital.

After this accident, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde tweeted that some people have been admitted to the hospital due to heat stroke at Dr. Appasaheb Dharmadhikari’s Maharashtra Bhushan award ceremony held in Kharghar today. The CM further said that unfortunately 11 of them died during treatment. This incident is very unfortunate and painful. I pay my respects to the deceased.
