Elon Musk Adds Calling and Video Features on X: Twitter owner Elon Musk has made a big announcement. He added that Twitter Now X will have an audio and video calling feature very soon. He also said that the new feature will be available for Android, iOS, PC and Mac. Musk claims that audio and video calls can be made without any phone number. There was speculation about getting such a facility since the beginning of this month. However, now Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced it officially.

The new features will be available within the Direct Message (DM) menu, and the video calling option will be located in the top right corner. The design of the new DM menu will be similar to that of other platforms like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. According to media reports, CEO Linda Yaccarino had said that the new features are aimed at increasing communication on the platform and providing more ways for users to connect with each other.
X’s design engineer Andrea Conway also shared a photo of the new DM menu on Twitter, which shows video calling options. The option is located in the upper right corner of the menu, next to the existing options for sending text messages, photos, and videos. The new audio and video calling feature is expected to be introduced to all users in the coming weeks. It is noteworthy that the new feature aims to enhance communication on the platform. It is also being seen as a strong challenger to rival Meta, as the platform already allows calling on its various platforms including Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram.
