Dheeraj Sahu IT Raids: Despite recovery of more than Rs 250 crore in unaccounted cash so far, tax raids continued on Saturday at the premises of Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu in Odisha and Jharkhand. The raid started on Wednesday i.e. 6th December. Income Tax Department teams have seized about 19 more bags of money from the house of a person named Bunty Sahu.
Hyderabad Zone DG Investigation Sanjay Bahadur is keeping an eye on the raid and counting of notes. According to media reports, till now the counting of Rs 260 crore had been completed. It is estimated that there is more than Rs 300 crore in cash. Income Tax had to use 156 big bags and sacks to transport the notes. The Income Tax team is also interrogating some employees of the company. On the first day, 30 shelves were found filled with notes.
On the second day also many bags full of notes were found. The lockers have not been opened yet. Here, on this income tax raid, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said on his ‘X’ account that the countrymen should see the pile of these notes and then listen to the honest speeches of their leaders. Every penny of what has been looted from the public will have to be returned. This is Modi’s guarantee.

Boudh Distillery Private Limited is located in Boudh district, about 200 km from Bhubaneswar and is spread over an area of 40 acres. The names of the directors of this group are Amit Sahu, Ritesh Sahu and Uday Shankar Prasad. After the counting of notes is completed, people of the company group will be questioned in this regard. Apart from this, information will also be sought about the reasons for keeping such a huge amount of cash with you. Thereafter, notes in excess of the cash holding capacity of the company will be confiscated and action will be taken under the provisions contained in the Income Tax Act.

The Income Tax Department has conducted raids in Sambalpur, Balangir, Titilagarh, Boudh, Sundergarh, Rourkela and Bhubaneswar. It is one of the largest companies in the country manufacturing and selling liquor. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu or the liquor trading company have not yet responded to the raid. However, no one has been arrested yet in this connection.
Note counting machines arrived by plane
Note counting machines also reached Odisha by air from Hyderabad on the third day. The officials faced difficulties in sending these machines to Balangir, because the distance from Bhuneshwar to Balangir is more than 300 kilometers. Notes were found in a total of 156 bags. The counting of notes has started after the arrival of big machines to count the notes. The actual figure will be revealed only after the counting of notes is completed.
