Corona Update In India: There has been a decrease in the cases of Coronavirus in the country for the last few days. The slowing pace of infection is a relief for the people. However, on the other hand the death toll from Corona is still high. 7171 new cases of corona have been reported in the country. The good thing is that there is a decrease in new cases of corona since a week. Today is the fifth consecutive day, when new corona cases are less than 10,000.
According to the information received from the Union Health Ministry, 7,171 new Kovid cases have been registered in India in the last 24 hours. Now the number of active cases in the country has come down to 51,314. At the same time, 40 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate is 3.69%, while the weekly positivity rate is pegged at 4.72%. Health Ministry informed that 1,94,134 tests were done in the last 24 hours and a total of 92.64 crore tests have been done so far. The National Recovery Rate has improved to 98.70% and the fatality rate is around 1.18%.

The death toll rose to 5,31,508 with 40 fresh deaths. In the last 24 hours, the maximum number of 15 deaths have occurred in Kerala. Six deaths were reported in Delhi, four in Uttar Pradesh, three in Chhattisgarh, two each in Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, and one each in Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Chandigarh. With the addition of 9,669 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries from COVID-19 has risen to 4,43,56,693, the ministry said.
According to the website of the Ministry of Health, so far 220.66 crore doses of Kovid vaccine have been administered in the country. Meanwhile, the national capital has recorded at least 40 corona-related deaths from April 19-27, with experts saying the infection is turning severe mostly in elderly patients. Medical experts say there is a dip in daily cases, but the coming days will be critical.
