The central government has declared a holiday across the country on April 14 on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. The Central Government has also issued a notification in this regard. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions of the Central Government has issued a notification regarding this yesterday i.e. on 11th April. Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birthday is on 14th April.

The notification issued by the Central Government states that Thursday, April 14, 2023, on the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, is declared a holiday all over India. Along with this, there will be a holiday in the Supreme Court on 14th April. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud issued a circular regarding this on 11 April. Explain that on behalf of a group of lawyers, an official holiday was demanded on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. After this, the Delhi High Court has also declared a holiday on April 14 for the High Court and all district courts in Delhi.

At the same time, people are thanking PM Narendra Modi for declaring a national holiday on Ambedkar Jayanti by the central government. Significantly, this year, 132nd Ambedkar Jayanti will be celebrated across the country on 14th April. Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891 in Mhow district of Madhya Pradesh and died on December 6, 1956 in Mumbai. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was the first law minister of the country. Along with this, Ambedkar was also the head of the constitution drafting committee. He studied economics from Columbia University and the London School of Economics after graduating from Elphinstone College, University of Bombay. He always advocated the rights and social freedom of Dalits. He initiated mass conversions of Dalits in 1956 and converted to Buddhism himself.
