Assembly Elections 2023: The Election Commission of India team is touring different states for the preparations for the assembly elections in five states. Today a 17-member team has visited Telangana. During this, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that the Election Commission is fully committed to conducting free, fair, transparent and inducement-free elections. Rajiv Kumar has held meetings with political parties, state and central government officials and ED.

Rajeev Kumar said- Money power is on our radar in elections.

Rajiv Kumar talked about the team’s activities in Telangana. He said that very clear orders have been given to ED to take strict action against the use of money power during elections. Kumar said money power and free distribution will be on our radar. If ED does not take action, we will get them to take action. As soon as the time comes, we will assess and ensure that they take action on all this.

Checkposts will be made

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that during the assembly elections of five states, 148 checkposts will be made in Telangana alone. At the same time, 35 checkposts will be made on Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border, 26 checkposts on Telangana-Karnataka border, 24 checkposts on Telangana-Maharashtra border and 4 checkposts on Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. Also, every type of transaction will be closely monitored.

Rajiv Kumar said that for the first time in Telangana, all our senior citizens aged 80 years and above will have the facility to vote from the comfort of their home. Similarly, people with more than 40 percent disability can also vote from home. Before Telangana, Kumar had gone to Rajasthan. Rajasthan has 5.25 crore voters, which includes 2.73 crore males, 2.51 crore females and 604 transgenders.
