Delhi Air Pollution: Air pollution is at its peak in Delhi. At present the situation in the capital has become like a gas chamber. There is no corner of Delhi where the air quality is not the worst. The air has become even more polluted due to the firecrackers burnt on the night of Diwali. The air quality has not improved even on Monday morning and today i.e. Tuesday. Some areas recorded higher AQI than others.
Air quality is bad in other states too
It is not that only Delhi’s air quality has deteriorated. Same is the condition of its neighboring cities also. People of cities like Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad are also seen yearning for clean air. It is a matter of concern that at many places the level of pollution became so high that the machine was not even able to record it. Despite the ban on firecrackers imposed by the Supreme Court, a lot of firecrackers were burnt in Delhi-NCR.
Pollution 33 times more than the prescribed level
Anand Vihar is considered to be the biggest hotspot of air pollution in Delhi. This was the most polluted area of the city on Sunday night. But this time the pollution did not increase due to vehicle pollution or smoke or dust of companies, but firecrackers are responsible for it. The pollution level increased significantly due to fireworks in this area. Here people burst crackers and the rules of the Supreme Court were openly violated.
Where was the AQI?
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, an average AQI of 422 (severe) was recorded in Delhi’s RK Puram at 5 am on Tuesday. PM 2.5, a lung-damaging particle, has been a major pollutant. Dwarka’s air quality also remained in the severe category with AQI at 406 on Tuesday morning. Similarly, ITO witnessed AQI 432 (severe) at 5 am and is likely to remain around this level throughout the day. Residents of Gurugram, Haryana have also had to face poisonous air. AQI 430 was recorded in Sector-51 this morning. 377 AQI has been recorded in Noida Sector-62, which will remain bad throughout the day.
