Pakistan’s politics heats up, PM Shahbaz Sharif may resign today, preparations for election in Imran’s absence

There is a lot of turmoil going on in the politics of Pakistan. On the one hand, in the Toshakhana Case, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has been given a jail term of 3 years. In such a situation, Imran Khan will not be able to contest elections for the next 5 years. On the other hand, the tenure of the present Shehbaz Sharif government is also about to end. The tenure of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is ending on August 12. The PM wants that there is no delay in holding the elections, for this he can recommend dissolution of the Parliament today itself. PM Sharif had said on Tuesday that he would write a letter to President Arif Alvi on Wednesday to dissolve the Pakistan Assembly.

Election may be postponed to next year

Giving information about the upcoming elections, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the general elections may be postponed till the month of March next year. He said on Tuesday that according to the schedule, general elections are to be held in Pakistan in November, but the Common Interest Committee has announced a new census. The Election Commission has to conduct elections according to the delimitation based on the new census, in which case the election can be postponed till March of next month.

Imran’s arrest may worsen the atmosphere

Security has been tightened in Pakistan since the arrest of former PM Imran Khan in the Toshakhan case. Before being arrested, Imran had told his supporters that after my arrest, you people will not sit quietly in your homes. In such a situation, the atmosphere of Pakistan can deteriorate as soon as PM Shahbaz Sharif resigns. Regarding this, the security system has been put on high alert mode. Let us inform that the former PM has been given C-category facilities in the jail located in Punjab province. Imran Khan was arrested in Lahore on Saturday, soon after he was convicted by a trial court in Islamabad in the Toshakhana corruption case.
