What is the relationship between Iqama and work permit in Jordan?
Iqama is issued to migrant workers working in Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries. On the basis of this Iqama, they can obtain on arrival visa in Jordan. The stranded laborers say that they were working here on the basis of this Iqama. Now his Iqama period has ended. This is the reason why workers are not able to take any kind of legal action against the company which is not paying them salaries at the local level. Along with this, some laborers were also working there on the basis of work permit and work visa. Work permit is an important document that ensures that foreign workers, including Indians, are legally authorized to work in Jordan while complying with the country’s labor laws and regulations.

In such a situation, the workers fear that some kind of untoward incident might happen to them. The workers are repeatedly appealing to be called back to India.
