All the universities of Bihar are going to have a four-year undergraduate course from this year. In this regard, Governor-cum-Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has given instructions to all the Vice-Chancellors and officials of the Education Department on Thursday for these courses. From the next session, centralized enrollment will be done in all the universities of the state. Along with this, the Raj Bhavan will issue a timeline for this. At the same time, Governor-cum-Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Thursday discussed choice-based credit system in universities as well as starting four-year undergraduate studies on the basis of semester-based method. During this, suggestions have been made in a meeting with all the Vice Chancellors and top officials of the Education Department at the Raj Bhavan.
A committee will be formed to prepare the syllabus
Along with this, it has been decided in the meeting that a four-year undergraduate course will be implemented in all the universities of Bihar for the session 2023-27. A committee will also be constituted to prepare the course structure and detailed syllabus for the first year. However, this session the enrollment will be done at the university level only. Along with this, all the universities will be directed to complete all related works at the same time.
Decision to make academic calendar
During this meeting Vice Chancellors of State Universities, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department Deepak Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to Governor Robert L. Chongthu, Secretary Baidyanath Yadav, Academic Advisor of Bihar State Higher Education Council Prof. NK Aggarwal and officials of the Governor’s Secretariat were also present.
Certificate will be given after one year
Professor Farooq Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Jaiprakash University, said that the enrollment of the graduate of the year 2023 will now be done according to the rules and syllabus of CBCS. Preparation has started for all these.
