According to media reports, Electricity Minister Atishi said that people will not be given subsidized electricity from tomorrow. From today the subsidized electricity given to the people of Delhi will be stopped, that means from tomorrow the subsidized bills will not be given. He told that we had decided to give subsidy on electricity in the coming year also, but its file is with Delhi LG and until the file comes with approval from there, AAP government cannot issue subsidy bill. .
Significant changes were made last year as well
The AAP government had changed the rules of free electricity last year as well. In May 2022, CM Arvind Kejriwal announced that those who want free electricity will have to apply for it. He had said that according to the decision of the Delhi cabinet, from October 1, 2022, only those people, whose applications would be received, would get free electricity. Also, those who do not want this facility can give up their subsidy.
LG gave advice to AAP
After Delhi Electricity Minister Atishi’s allegation on LG, LG has also given clarification. The LG office responded by saying that the power minister is cautioned to avoid unnecessary politics and baseless false allegations against the LG. Atishi has been accused of misleading people by making false statements. The LG further said that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and the power minister should answer why the decision in this regard was kept pending till April 4. When the deadline was till April 15, why was the file sent to LG only on April 11. LG said that by writing a letter on 13th April and holding a press conference today, they are playing gimmicks.
