Bundelkhand Democratic Party: Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh Sulkhan Singh has formed Bundelkhand Loktantrik Party (BLP) on Tuesday. Sulkhan Singh was DGP in 2017. He has raised the demand to make Bundelkhand a separate state. Sulkhan Singh proposed to form Bundelkhand state by merging seven districts of Uttar Pradesh, Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, Jhansi and Lalitpur and eight districts of Madhya Pradesh, Damoh, Panna, Chhatarpur, Datia, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Niwari and Ashok Nagar. Have demanded.

Will contest on 8 seats in Lok Sabha elections

Talking to the media, the former DGP said that BLP candidates will be fielded in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on eight seats in the Bundelkhand region. Of these, four seats are in Uttar Pradesh, while the remaining four seats are in Madhya Pradesh. Along with this, Sulkhan Singh accused the state governments of neglecting the Bundelkhand region. He said that without promoting development in Bundelkhand, its rich mineral resources, cultural heritage and tourist attractions are being exploited.

Demanded to make Bundelkhand a state

Former DGP Sulkhan Singh said that there was a need to create a separate state for the specific needs of Bundelkhand. Sulkhan Singh said that no political party pays attention to the issues like water crisis, unemployment and migration in Bundelkhand region.
