Wrestlers Protest: A khap mahapanchayat was held at Soram village on Thursday to discuss the ongoing protest by wrestlers against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. This mahapanchayat was called by BKU leader Naresh Tikait. Its biggest thing is that SP and RLD MLAs have also been given a place in Khap Panchayat. Samajwadi Party leader and Sardhana MLA Atul Pradhan and RLD leader and Budhana MLA Rajpal Balyan have launched a verbal attack on the central government from the platform of Khap Panchayats. Also, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has extended support to the wrestlers. Many important proposals have come in this meeting, one of which was that the medals should not be thrown into the Ganges and should be auctioned at the international level.
Rakesh Tikait said – this is our fundamental right
Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said in the Khap Panchayat that the constitution of this country has given the right to protest peacefully, it is a fundamental right of all. He said that the wrestlers, who were agitating peacefully, have been lifted from Jantar Mantar. Tikait said that under the Poxo Act, arrest was first made and then investigation was done, but the law is different for Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. He further said that the Khap leaders would meet the President and the decision of the mahapanchayat would be pronounced at Kurukshetra. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that the government is trying to divide us all on the basis of caste. First he did Hindu-Muslim in the whole country and then came to UP to do Hindu-Muslim. This government only does politics of division. Also, he said that these girls do not belong to any caste, they only belong to Tiranga caste.
