On January 25, the court granted interim bail to Ashish for eight weeks, along with it it was directed that He will not stay in Uttar Pradesh or the national capital Delhi during this period.

The lawyer of the victims demanded an early hearing

According to media reports, advocate Prashant Bhushan, representing the families of the farmers killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, urged the bench to ask the trial court to conduct day-to-day hearing in the matter. Along with this, Bhushan told the bench that there are about 200 witnesses in the case and so far only three witnesses have been examined. On the request made by Bhushan, the Supreme Court said that it would not be possible to direct the lower court to hear the case on a daily basis, as it may affect other cases pending there.
