According to media reports, there is speculation that the government is planning to introduce a bill on “one nation, one election” in the special session of Parliament convened from September 18 to 22. It is in this proposal that the elections to the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assemblies of all the states should be held simultaneously. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been advocating the idea of one nation, one election for a long time. In fact, it was also included in the election manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
