Rajasthan Election 2023:Now about one and a quarter months is left for the assembly elections in Rajasthan. In this regard, the Congress Party is continuously conducting surveys for the selection of its candidates. In this series, a meeting of the screening committee was held at the Congress headquarters in Delhi on Saturday afternoon. Many Congress leaders including Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, Assembly Speaker Dr. CP Joshi, state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Abhishek Dutt and Ganesh Godiyal were present in this meeting.
The names of possible candidates were discussed in the meeting. After this there will be a meeting of the Central Election Committee. It is being told that the first list of candidates will be released after the CEC meeting. Meanwhile, shortly after the meeting, protests were seen outside the Delhi Congress office regarding the first list of candidates. Activists raised slogans against Zahida Khan.
What did CM Gehlot say after the meeting
After the meeting, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, while speaking to the media, said that after a very long time, the screening committee of RPCC has been given the right to go to the districts and take feedback. CM said that the party chief has asked everyone to come to Delhi and give their opinion. He said that committee chairman tickets will be distributed solely on the basis of feedback received.
CM Gehlot said that there is no wave against the government in Rajasthan. The public has no complaints against us. If there is a complaint against any MLA, we will go to his constituency and prepare a survey report and we will also take feedback from the public. Gehlot said that everything will depend on the feedback. He said that tickets will be given only on the basis of winning potential. The screening committee will give priority to only that.
Activists demonstrated against Zahida Khan
Some Congress workers also staged a strong protest and raised slogans in the Congress office against Minister Zahida Khan. Actually, Congress workers are demanding that ticket should not be given to Minister Zahida Khan. During this, the workers raised slogans like ‘Zahida hatao, Congress bachao’ and ‘Zahida hatao, Congress bachao’. Let us tell you that there is more resentment among Congress workers towards Zahida Khan.
