Rajasthan Election 2023: For the 2023 assembly elections in Rajasthan, all the parties are trying to give a new shape to their plans in different ways. Meanwhile, Congress has constituted a central level war room team. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday approved the proposal for appointment of Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Central War Room for the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan with immediate effect. General Secretary KC Venugopal has released the list on behalf of AICC.

Shashikant Senthil will be the head of the war room

The Congress chief has approved the appointment of IAS-turned-politician Shashikant Senthil as the chairman of the Central War Room. Lokesh Sharma, Jaswant Gurjar and Captain Arvind Kumar have been named co-chairmen. Former Karnataka cadre IAS officer Shashikant was also the head of the war room for the Karnataka Assembly elections. Senthil and his team worked day and night to prepare campaign and social media strategies for the Congress. It was he who had made the 40 percent commission government a statewide election issue.

Gehlot’s OSD also got responsibility

Congress has also given big responsibility to Lokesh Sharma. He is considered very close to CM Ashok Gehlot. Gehlot’s OSD Lokesh Sharma’s name had come up in the phone tapping case. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had also lodged an FIR against him in Delhi. The court is hearing this matter. At the same time, he has got relief in this matter from the Delhi court.

Rajasthan elections

Assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan later this year. In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress party took power from the Vasundhra Raje-led BJP government. BJP could secure only 73 seats. Since 2018, both Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot have been embroiled in a bitter struggle for power. However, the party has said that there is no difference of opinion between the two.
