AAP MLA Bribery Case: Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amit Ratan has been arrested by the Punjab Vigilance team in a bribery case. Punjab Vigilance Bureau officials on Thursday said that Aam Aadmi Party’s Amit Ratan, who is the MLA from Bathinda Rural constituency, has been arrested in a bribery case.
According to officials, Amit Ratan is being interrogated at Bathinda Civil Line Police Station and will soon be taken to Bathinda Civil Hospital for medical examination. According to the information received from the sources, it is being told that he was called for questioning. Amit Ratan was arrested four days after that.
Amit Ratan arrested for taking bribe
On February 17, the vigilance team had arrested MLA Ratan from Bathinda Circuit House in Punjab along with his personal assistant Rashim Garg for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh from a sarpanch. According to officials, the sarpanch’s husband has accused the MLA’s personal assistant of demanding a bribe of Rs 4 lakh in the name of MLA Amit Ratan. After which the vigilance team along with the complainant reached the circuit house and caught the PA red handed while taking bribe in the circuit house. Officials said that further action is going on in the matter.
