Punjab Schools Closed: In Himachal Pradesh (Himachal Pradesh), incessant rains have caused huge devastation. There has been a loss of more than Rs 8 thousand crore due to rains in the state. Now it is being seen in Punjab also. Due to incessant rains in Himachal, there has been a flood-like situation in Punjab. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to close all the schools in Punjab. Schools will remain closed in Punjab from 23 to 26 August. This information has been given by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains himself.

Education Minister of Punjab has tweeted about this. He wrote in his tweet that on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ji, due to incessant heavy rains in many districts of Himachal and Punjab, a flood-like situation has arisen in the state. He further wrote that keeping this in mind, the Punjab government has decided to close the school with immediate effect. All government, aided, recognized and private schools in Punjab are on holiday today i.e. from 23rd August to 26th August.

Heavy destruction due to rain in Himachal

Let us tell you that incessant rains in Himachal Pradesh have caused huge devastation. 77 people have died due to floods and rains in the state. At the same time, mountains are cracking at many places and roads have also been blocked. Heavy rains have been lashing the hill state since Sunday, causing landslides in several districts including Shimla.

Since the onset of monsoon on June 24 in Himachal Pradesh, 220 people have died in rain-related incidents and 11,637 houses have also been damaged. Also, more than 600 roads are still closed in the state, efforts are on to open them. In the last three days, 2,074 people have been rescued from the flood-affected areas of Kangra district.
