A major accident took place in Ludhiana, Punjab on Sunday. Due to the poisonous gas leak in Giaspura area, 9 people died, while 11 people became unconscious. The police was informed about the gas leak incident. After this, the police (Punjab Police) and administration team reached the spot in a hurry. Also, during this time the fire department was also called on the spot. The unconscious people have been admitted to the nearest hospital. The administration has evacuated the surrounding area of three hundred meters. This gas leak incident took place near Sitara Cinema on Giaspur Sua Road around 8 am. Police and administration are engaged in the investigation. According to media reports, this poisonous gas (Gas Leak) has leaked from a factory or sewerage, its causes are being investigated.
Investigation of poisonous gas leak continues
According to media reports, this factory was lying closed for a long time. Police is also trying to find out about the factory owner. People living near this factory also came under the grip of this poisonous gas. Ludhiana’s SDM Swati, who reached the spot, told that it is a case of gas leak. NDRF team is present on the spot to save the people and is conducting rescue operation. Also, he told that 9 people died and 11 are ill in this incident.
CM Bhagwant Mann expressed grief
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken cognizance of the gas leak incident in Giaspura, Ludhiana, Punjab. In a tweet, the CM said that the incident of gas leak from the factory in Gyaspura area of Ludhiana is painful. He said that the police, administration and NDRF teams are present on the spot. Every possible effort is being made to help all the people.
