The Punjab government has taken a big action against anti-social elements. The Punjab Police cordoned off the colonies of cities and towns and started a search operation. This major action has been taken on the instructions of Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. During this, the police have checked a total of 5869 houses. Police cordoned off more than 866 colonies and 322 suspicious persons are being interrogated.

The aim is to create fear in the minds of anti-social elements

According to media reports, this operation was conducted from 10 am to 3 pm in all 28 police districts of the state. With the heavy deployment of the police force, this operation was ordered to be completed in a proper manner. Giving information about the case, Special Director General of Police Law and Order Arpit Shukla said that the purpose of this major operation is to create a sense of security among the common people. He said that increasing the police presence in the area was also a motive. With this, the fear of anti-social elements in the society can be reduced.

He said that more than 250 teams of about 2500 police personnel under the leadership of SP and DSP rank officers have carried out this operation together. Apart from searching suspicious persons, the police also checked the tenants living on rent. At the same time, the Special DGP said that police teams have checked 5869 houses during the operation. Apart from this, more than 866 colonies have been cordoned off by the police and 322 suspicious persons are being interrogated.

In this operation, the police have also recovered drug money worth Rs 2.25 lakh, 66.5 grams of heroin and 11 mobiles. The police have registered a case against the four accused.
