Meanwhile, the speculation about surrender of Amritpal Singh is increasing rapidly. According to media reports, a special meeting is being organized by Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, in which speculation is rife that Amritpal may surrender till Baisakhi. Jathedars, Nihangs and Sikh intellectuals from the country and abroad are going to participate in this meeting.
Security agencies on alert mode
Punjab Police and security agencies are on alert mode amid speculations of Amritpal surrendering. Heavy police force has been deployed in Talwandi. The leave of all the police personnel including top officers of Punjab has been cancelled. Along with this, police offices have been instructed not to give any leave to any officer or employee.
How far did the police reach in search of Amritpal
Punjab Police and investigative agencies are busy in search of Amritpal Singh. Also, raids are being conducted at his different locations for his arrest. The Punjab Police on Friday raided the possible hideouts of Amritpal, including deras, in Hoshiarpur district. Barricades were put up at key places so that they could not escape. However, so far no concrete clue of Amritpal has been found. It is being told by quoting many reports that Amritpal can now surrender in Bathinda. In such a situation, the police has intensified surveillance from Hoshiarpur to Bathinda.
Released two videos and one audio clip
Khalistani supporter Amritpal is absconding since March 18. A few days ago, he released two alleged videos and an audio clip on social media. In one of the videos, he told that he is not a fugitive and will appear before the world soon. Earlier it was being told that Amritpal can surrender himself by going to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Since then, police and investigative agencies had increased security around the Golden Temple. Despite this, Amritpal is still away from the clutches of the police.
