Now, if any vehicle owner is negligent in renewing the insurance of the vehicle, or for not giving helmets and seat belts and tickets to the passengers traveling in buses as per rules, heavy fine can be imposed on the vehicle owners. In this regard, the Transport Department has fixed a new settlement amount (conciliation fee) for those who violate various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Under this, a settlement fee ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1 lakh can be charged for breaking the rules. Transport Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Jha says that soon the department is going to issue an order in this regard. After this, according to the said order, action will be taken from the driver to the owner of the vehicle under the sections. Apart from the officers of Transport Department, Traffic Police, officers of other departments will also be able to collect the compounding fee.

Now this much settlement fee can be imposed for breaking these rules

A compounding fee of up to Rs 1,000 on uninsured motor cycles, Rs 3,000 on light vehicles and Rs 5,000 on heavy vehicles can be charged.

For not having a helmet, a settlement fee of Rs 300-300 will be charged for the first time and second time. 1000 rupees will be charged in the first time and 2000 rupees in the second time for making sound by cutting the silencer.

Violation of safety measures for motorcyclists and pillion riders will attract a compounding fee of Rs 500.

500 will be charged for the first time and the same amount for the second time, if the four-wheeler driver and passengers do not wear seat belts.

200-200 rupees will be taken in the first and second time for seating more than the fixed number of passengers.

– A compounding fee of Rs 20,000 each will be charged for the first time and second time for those who do not stop the vehicle or weigh it, load more than the capacity of the officials.

2000 for driving a three wheeler vehicle without a permit, while a four wheeler or heavy vehicle will have to pay a compounding fee of Rs 10,000.

– A compounding fee of ten thousand rupees will have to be paid for driving a vehicle by a disabled person. Similarly, a fine of 1000 thousand and 3000 thousand can be collected from a transport vehicle for non-transport vehicle driving faster than the fixed speed.

– A fine of one lakh rupees each will be levied for the first and second time for violation of the rules by the vehicle manufacturing company, manufacturer and importer. Similarly, a compounding fee of one lakh rupees will be charged for selling spare parts of motor vehicles.

Transport department will keep special eye on bus operators

A fine of up to Rs 500-500 can be imposed on the driver-operator of the buses for not giving ticket to the passenger, giving illegal ticket or giving ticket of less amount by taking more fare.
