In this regard, a poster has been pasted on behalf of the Railways at Bhopal station these days. In which it is written that in case of train delay, passengers will have to pay a charge of ten rupees for sitting in the railway waiting room. Protest has started regarding this. On Friday, more than a dozen passengers have protested in this regard through various mediums. After which a reply is sought from the Railway Headquarters.
According to the information, Railways has started cutting passenger facilities to increase its income. In fact, many facilities of the railway including the waiting room have been handed over to private hands by the railways. Due to which the private contractors are charging money from the passengers for the use of these facilities. Under this, the charge of sitting in the waiting room has been taken. So on the other hand, regarding this poster pasted by the Railways, the passengers say that when the train is late because of the Railways. So why are they taking money from us. Rail passenger Komal Jain told that if the train is late due to railways, the railways should give discount on the fare on the lines of aeroplane. Instead of waiting for the train, money should be taken from the passengers.

Responding to the Bhopal Railway Division in this regard, it has been said that the AC waiting hall at Bhopal Junction has been outsourced under the NFR (Non Fare Revenue) scheme, where private vendors will take care of passenger amenities. For this, a fee of Rs 10 per hour is charged by the vendor as a convenience fee.
