Bhopal.The Jail Department has found a new way to fill the vacant posts for a long time. On the lines of Police Department, the process of promotion in the Jail Department will start soon. Promotion will be given to the staff-officers posted in the jail department as adhoc. The special thing is that there will be an increase only in the post of the employees or officers who get the promotion. Will not be able to demand salary. That is, the salary they will be given on the post they are in now. Promotion will be given only on the second post.

The scrutiny committee will determine the eligible and qualified officers

An order has been issued to give the charge of higher posts to the officers and employees of the Jail Department. Superintendent District Jail, Deputy Superintendent Jail, Senior Probation and Welfare Officer, Chief Probation and Welfare Officer have been included for promotion. However, the screening committee will determine the eligible and deserving officers. Chairman DG Arvind Kumar will be the chairman of the four-member committee. Additional Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons (Establishment) and Deputy Inspector General of Prisons (Law)/Superintendent Central Jail will be among the 3 members. At least one member of the committee shall be from the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category. ACS Home Dr. Rajesh Rajoura has told that for other posts, a sorting committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Jail DG. The officers involved in the promotion will be promoted as in charge. The eligibility conditions for officiating charge have also been prescribed. Apart from other conditions, it has been prescribed that the officers/employees with officiating charge will be able to discharge all the rights and responsibilities of their officiating post. Any officer/employee holding officiating charge will not have the right of preference in the consideration of promotion in future.
