Bhopal. An engineer of the Agricultural Mechanical Department has died due to burns. It is being told that there was a fire in his house. People forbade him to go inside, yet he entered the house with the intention of extinguishing the fire. But due to the smoke and fire, he fell on the stairs and died due to burns. His charred body was found on the stairs an hour later when the fire brigade personnel extinguished the fire.

A fire broke out in a house in Pebble-Bay Colony of Bagmugalia, Bhopal at around 11.30 pm. It is being told that this house belongs to 55-year-old Anil Porwal. He was posted as Agricultural Engineer in the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering. He was survived by his wife and a daughter. At around 11 in the night, he was sitting in the house with the family after walking his dog. Only then they saw smoke coming out from the first floor of the house. Immediately he ran to the first floor and saw that the fire had increased a lot. He immediately took out the girl and wife. During this, all the people around had also reached the spot. The people of the locality had also called the fire brigade. But still Anil went into the house with the intention of extinguishing the fire. The fire brigade, which arrived after about 45 minutes, had brought the fire under control after an hour’s effort.

According to Bagsevania police station in-charge Sanjeev Choukse, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the police also reached the spot. After extinguishing the fire, the police went to the first floor with the family members and saw that the burnt body of Anil Porwal was lying on the stairs. His body was badly charred by the fire. It is being speculated that Anil was going up the stairs when he fell on the stairs itself due to smoke and fire. Expressing the possibility, the police said that some valuable belongings of Anil might have been kept in the room where the fire broke out. The relatives and neighbors had also forbidden him from going upstairs. It is being told that the house caught fire due to short circuit. Police has started the investigation of the matter.
