Bhopal. MEMU train may soon run between Bhopal to Itarsi. Its running will benefit thousands of passengers daily. Among them, the number of up-downers will be more. This train can make two trips in the morning and evening. In fact, for the convenience of the passengers, a proposal has been sent by the Bhopal Railway Division to the Railway Board from zone to zone. Probably, its schedule can be released along with the new time table to be released by the Railways in October.
Proposal sent to Railways
According to a senior railway official, this train was planned three years ago, but it has been postponed due to Corona infection and other issues including the work of the third line. But now the work of the third line on the Ranikamlapati-Itarsi section is almost complete. Due to this, a proposal has been sent to the Railways to run this train.

At present MEMU trains are running between Bhopal to Bina and Itarsi to Katni. A MEMU train has also run from Itarsi to Khandwa. Passenger trains used to run before Corona and passengers used to travel comfortably at low fares. But the Railways has now decided to stop passenger trains completely. Instead of these, Railways is running MEMU trains which are more convenient and make the train travel faster. An official of Bhopal Railway Division told that MEMU train is required between Bhopal to Itarsi. Its operation may start soon.
