Bhopal. While on one hand Ayurveda and other AYUSH medical services are being appreciated globally, on the other hand, the autonomous teachers in government AYUSH colleges of the state are being neglected by the government. Their pay scale is very less as compared to the teachers of other medical education like veterinary, dental etc. colleges of the state. It may be noted that professors of veterinary and dental etc. medical colleges are being given revised pay scale and other allowances from the year 2013.
Expressed anger over low pay scale
About 250 teachers are working in total 9 colleges of Ayurveda, Homeopath and Unani in the state. Ayush teachers have been demanding revision of salary for many years. Despite giving memorandum to the government several times, the government has not considered. If the government does not take any concrete steps to solve this problem soon, then a state-wide protest will be organized by AYUSH teachers under the banner of Ayurveda Teachers Welfare Association from June 26, in the beginning of which AYUSH teachers will start a symbolic protest. I will work by tying a black band.
