Rajouri Encounter: An encounter is going on between security forces and terrorists since Monday in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to media reports, security forces have surrounded at least three terrorists in the area. Earlier in the day, security forces had launched a search operation in Kalakote forest in Rajouri district after receiving information about suspicious activity, officials said.

Officials said that the terrorists also fired on the soldiers in an attempt to break the siege. However, no information about any casualty has been received yet. Also, he said that it is believed that three terrorists are inside the surrounded area and more security forces have been sent to block all escape routes. An official said that the joint operation was launched in Broh and Soom forests of Kalakote and technology is being used to keep an eye on the terrorists and intensive search operations are being carried out.

Earlier, police had recovered about 30 kg of cocaine worth Rs 300 crore in the international market from a Punjab bound vehicle in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. The police officer had claimed to have busted the narco-terror module. Two people from Punjab were arrested after this year’s biggest narcotics seizure from Banihal area along the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Initially the recovered drug was believed to be heroin but after investigation it was found to be cocaine.
