A woman and her colleague, a resident of Shyam Vihar colony in Model Town, were arrested in the act by police for falsely implicated in a rape case and charging Rs 50,000 with compromising. Police recovered the money taken from the victim from the accused woman and her associate, who were tagged by police. During the raid, police also seized 300 grams of opium from the woman’s home. According to the information received, Omprakash, a resident of Bhuna Dhani, submitted a complaint to police that a woman named Kavita, a resident of Shyam Vihar colony in Model Town, caught him in a honey trap and demanded Rs 15,000. When he failed to provide that amount, a false rape charge was filed at Fatehabad Women’s Police Station on February 25. Now the aforementioned Ms. Kavita and her partner Rajaram Tibbi constantly blackmail her into a settlement instead of withdrawing the rape case. When the victim Ompakash refused to give 15 lakhs he started asking for 10 lakhs. The complainant said he was unable to pay such a large amount, so he made a deal for 4.5 lakhs. She then informed the women’s police station SHO Kavita Sihag in detail about the whole affair and filed a written complaint asking for help. The head of the women’s ward, Kavita Sihag, arrested the accused woman and her employee on Friday, along with a sum of 50,000. During a house search by the police, 300 grams of opium were seized. Bhuna Police have registered two separate cases against Kavita and her partner Rajaram Tibbi.

Kavita, the woman arrested by police in the honey trap case, has long been associated with controversy. While the accused woman has registered three separate cases of rape in Fatehabad, four cases of rape and kidnapping have also been registered at Bhuna Police Station. On February 12, 2019, an FIR was registered against ASI Ramjilal for assaulting him with nails and tearing his uniform and on June 17, 2020 for a drunken scuffle with Sub-Inspector Kashmir Singh and tearing his uniform. Both of the above cases are pending in court while the rape-related cases have been settled.
