The ration for the poor did not reach the depot holders; 20 percent of consumers were excluded from the ration in November

Mahesh Kumar/Mahendragarh. Due to less allocation of rations to the depot holder, people are deprived of rations. Last month, 20 percent of consumers in the district were unable to receive food ration. Depot holders are facing major problems due to lower rations. It is now common for consumer depot owners to argue about not receiving food rations.

This problem has been ongoing across the state for several months. The depot owner also informed the department head about this. In addition, a memorandum was also submitted to the Prime Minister, but no solution has been found yet. Even in the month of November, the depot holders faced problems due to lower rations. Depot owners say that according to old records, the allocation of rations to the district is done from the headquarters while ration cards have been issued through a family ID card since January. In such a situation, the number of ration cards has also increased. At the same time, one of the reasons why local people do not receive food rations is that people who come here from other states to work also receive food rations here. Due to this, there is a shortage of food for people. In addition, villagers from other villages also come to the villages to get food. In such a situation, the residents of the village where the depot is located are left deprived of food rations.

Millet will also be available in the month of December

Apart from wheat, millets will also be distributed to AAY and BPL cardholders in December. Under this, 18 kg of wheat and 17 kg of millet will be distributed to AAY cardholders. Two and a half kilograms of wheat and two and a half kilograms of millet are distributed per person in the BPL card. Additionally, one kilogram of sugar and two liters of mustard oil will be distributed to BPL and AAY cardholders every month.

3836102 kg of wheat will be distributed this month

There are 2287 grocery stores in the district. There are 150108 ration card holders. There are 17743 AAE cardholders and 132365 BPL cards. In the month of December, 221,915 kg of wheat, 301,631 kg of millet and 4,485 kg of sugar were allocated in the district. In the month of November, 482,740 kg of wheat and 2,536 kg of wheat were sent to the depot owner.

The memorandum is submitted to DC

Mahabir Singh, head of the depot owner, said that the depot owner had been receiving less ration for about three months. Those responsible at the ministry were informed about this several times, but no solution could be found. Such problems occur across the state. The memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner. Head of equity trading Kuldeep Singh said such issues have been cropping up for several months now. On November 30 itself, a letter was written to the headquarters in this regard. This deposit holder problem will soon be solved.
