Sonipat, The court has convicted four accused in the case of gang-raping minor sisters and murdering them by forcing them to drink poisonous substances in Kundli police station area. The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court) Suruchi Atreja Singh sentenced the four convicts to death. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 each on the four perpetrators. While the court announced its verdict in two years, one month and ten days, it sentenced four perpetrators to death in the much-discussed case. While the court sentenced all four to death, it described their crime as heinous and deemed the death penalty appropriate.

That was the case

The woman, originally from Bihar, had informed the Kundli police station on August 9, 2021 that she was living on rent in a village in the Kundli police station area along with her two daughters and three sons. He married his eldest daughter and son. Four other youths from Bihar also lived in a separate room in the same premises where he lives on rent. The widow slept in the room with her 13- and 15-year-old daughters on the night of August 5, 2021. His sons were sleeping on the terrace. At around 12 in the night, four youths, originally Arun Pandit, a resident of Majgahi village in Darbhanga district of Bihar, Phoolchand, a resident of Masahori village, Dukhan Pandit, a resident of Jhakeli and Ramsuhag, a resident of Bada village in Samastipur, had entered the room. They had caught his daughters in the room. Arun and Phoolchand Sada had gang-raped the elder daughter and Dukhan Pandit and Ram Suhag had gang-raped the younger daughter. When they protested, both daughters were later forced to drink insecticide kept in the room. This caused his condition to worsen. The defendant had threatened the woman that he would kill her sons if she told anyone about it. The woman remained silent out of fear that her sons would be killed. She had gone to the terrace with her daughters. Both sisters writhed on the terrace until four in the morning. As their condition worsened, both of them were admitted to Raja Harishchandra Hospital in Narela, Delhi. Where he died. The woman had told the Kundli police station that her daughters had died due to snake bite. Subsequently, the post mortem of both bodies was carried out in Delhi. After the police received the report, they knew that the girls were gang raped. They were also given pesticides. When investigating officer Usha Malik, who was part of the then police station chief Ravi’s team, interrogated the woman, the truth came to light. The police had then registered a case against the four accused Arun, Phoolchand, Dukhan Pandit and Ram Suhag for gang rape and murder by feeding poisonous substances. The police had arrested all four. After hearing the case, ASJ Suruchi Atreja Singh declared all four accused guilty. All four were sentenced to death.
